Tsinghua SPPM – CENTER FOR RISK GOVERNANCE – IRGC CHINA

The mission of IRGC China (Center on Risk Governance) is aligned with IRGC’s objective. It aims to support the improvement of risk governance at both local and global levels. Specifically, IRGC China has been launched to:
• Facilitate risk-related research in China, e.g., to understand how individuals and institutions perceive risks and make risk decisions in the Chinese socio-economic and cultural context.
• Help policy makers improve the quality of decision-making regarding risks, by providing policy and research recommendations and by developing training programmes for civil servants.
• Strengthen international collaboration in holding high-level workshops and forums, and developing collaborative activities.
• Accompany reforms in China’s public administration as needed and promote analytic-deliberative risk-based management process.
IRGC China will be hosted at Tsinghua University, School of Public Policy and Management

国际风险治理理事会中国研究中心
国际风险治理理事会中国研究中心旨在增进人们对健康、环境、安全、社会以及经济风险的理解，提出治理之道，并聚焦中国的现状，关注地方风险治理与全球风险治理的相互作用。具体目标包括：
- 充分考虑中国独特的社会、经济和文化背景，开展风险识别与评估、风险认知与沟通、以及风险管理与治理等领域的基础研究；
- 通过提出政策建议和对政府机构工作人员培训的方式来帮助政策制定者提高有关管理风险的决策质量；
- 通过共同举办高端研讨会和论坛、开展国际合作等方式增进国际交流；
- 伴随中国公共管理思路的转变，推进科学的、协商式的风险治理模式。
