The International Risk Governance Council seeks to appoint a Research Intern to work for a 6-12 month period in our Secretariat.
The position is available on either a full- or part-time basis.
The Research Intern will research and summarise data from available public sources and be responsible for drafting project documents which give overviews of the scientific, governance and policy aspects of some emerging systemic risks.
IRGC’s work programme focuses on risk governance issues, mostly related to :
The mitigation of and adaptation to the effects of climate change
The sustainability of energy supply and consumption
The governance of the risks and opportunities associated with new technologies
Disaster governance
The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree in a scientific subject and a good understanding of public policy. He/she will be a rigorous researcher and have excellent written and spoken English. We welcome applications from PhD students who would prepare their thesis on a subject related to the risk governance of systemic risks and can, in this case, provide support for up to 2 years.
