In December 2007, IRGC offered a workshop entitled ‘Improving Risk Governance: Defining a Better Process for Risk Communication and Stakeholder Participation’ at the Society for Risk Analysis Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas. The workshop was be led by IRGC’s Scientific and Technical Council members Professors Ortwin Renn of Stuttgart University and Ragnar Lofstedt of King’s College, London. In September 2007, IRGC organised an expert meeting on Governance Guidelines for Bioenergy. The meeting was attended by a number of experts from the US, Europe, Brazil, India and China.

In March 2007, IRGC organised a workshop in Washington DC on Regulation of Carbon Capture and Sequestration. The meeting gathered a number of experts from the US, Europe and Australia. This workshop is part of the large IRGC project on CCS. For more information visit the CCS project page.

In November 2004, IRGC held an expert workshop in Ismaning, Germany, to develop thinking on our risk governance model together with experts from around the world.
In February 2004, IRGC held a technical workshop in Zurich to examine and discuss, with experts from industry, academia and government, risks within critical infrastructures.
CONFERENCES
In November 2007, IRGC co-organised with Swiss Re a conference on "Regulating and Financing Carbon Capture and Storage", hosted by the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue in Zurich, Switzerland.

In July 2006, IRGC’s conference ’The risk management of nanotechnology: recommendations for managing a global issue’ was hosted by the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue in Zurich, Switzerland (130 delegates from 24 countries).
In September 2005, IRGC held a General Conference in Bejing at the invitation of the Chinese government, who hosted the event (300 delegates from 32 countries):

In June 2004, IRGC held its Inaugural Conference in Geneva, Switzerland (170 delegates from 29 countries), alongside a networking day focusing on risk governance and the risks within critical infrastructures.
