IRGC’s income derives from contributions and sponsoring from governments, companies and other organisations that support IRGC’s mission and work.
IRGC has a dynamic funding structure.
General funds are used to support the organisation’s work on the concept of risk governance and its high-level application to emerging systemic risks, the scientific supervision by IRGC’s Scientific and Technical Council, the preparation of proposals for projects, our decision making processes and our administration. Special projects are financed by separate income. We also welcome in-kind contributions, which can considerably reduce our expenditure.
Our policy is to seek funding from multiple sources, to ensure the independence both of our organisation and of our projects and the publications and recommendations that they generate. IRGC receives strong financial support by the Swiss Federal Department of the Interior, State Secretary for Education and Research.
