In February 2008, we published an introduction to the IRGC’s risk governance framework.
Download it here
This introduction to the framework identifies a number of potential deficits in the risk governance process, each of which could - if not recognised and corrected - undermine the effectiveness of how risks are managed.
As the next stage of our work on the concept of risk governance we will shortly begin to further develop our thinking on these risk governance deficits and how understanding them can also help anticipate and identify new, emerging systemic risks.
We also hope to soon begin work to study different regulatory approaches and how best to involve stakeholders in them, with a view to developing guidelines for how regulatory approaches may change according to the type of risk being addressed and the context in which the decision is being made.
